FAQ

  • How do you engrave images on crystal?

The laser is used in engraving process which etch images and text on crystal. Hence, this can be defined as Laser photo crystal engraving the art of photography which fuses with the advanced 3D laser crystal engraving technology. A special sub-surface laser engraver focuses a laser beam to a specified depth inside a optical crystal glass or K-9 quality glass which has no bubbles or wavy imperfections.  When the laser is engraved on the glass, the focal point of energy is so high that the structure is changed at a small point. With the focused laser light beam, the spot gets ionized and a tiny pit or imperfection is formed, in the same process the laser light beam is moved to the next position which creates another tiny pit, a series of these pits is repeated thousands of times every second until the bottom layer is created. Then, the laser lens is moved up to create a new layer, this layer by layer process is repeated until the 3D model is complete. The entire process of controlling laser beam is done by a computer which is known as Vitrography.

As such if you want to include the background in an engraving feel free to contact our customer service team. Also if there is no specific request i Special Instruction Section designer will be free to make his own best for possible best outcome.

  • Can I include more than the recommended number of figures?

The number of recommended figures depends on size and shape of the crystal, small and medium crystals have limited space so the recommended number of figures cannot be added, if more figures are adjusted the etched image might come poorly.

In case of larger crystals, additional figures can be added with an additional charge. If more figures are included in image, the crystal will be smaller, designer have a less space while engraving.

  • Can I see a proof before ordering?

Absolutely! We create a digital proof as a part of the ordering process for all orders.
